Actually I’m not adverse to the idea but it seems it could be easier done by making the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County their own states and leaving the rest as ‘California.’ SF and LA could be called Libtardia

The counties mentioned in the secession are all right-of-center. The giant, leftist population bases will be left in the original California. The new state would be called ‘South California’. It’s brilliant. The new state would be right-to-work, low taxes and business friendly – plus there would be two new conservative U. S. Senators. The new state would include San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs, the desert counties, Yosemite, and the San Joaquin Valley counties to Madera. The original state would have Los Angeles, San Francisco, Marin, Sacramento and all the Northern California counties. I live here – and this will work.

KPFA isn’t for everyone. For example, it was 100% against the invasions of Iraq & Afghanistan, unfunded joyrides by the Bush Administration that blew a one trillion dollar hole in our economy. So who’s the ‘tard?

KPFA makes more than enough money from listener contributions to provide its services commercial-free. The latest problems have a lot to do with the fees it must pay to the national office (Pacifica) which has exceptionally high overhead and is also saddled with problems at other less-successful station in the Pacifica Network.

If they really wanted to send him a happy birthday message they would have sent him a cake. The Obama administration is clearly reproaching Ahmadinejad, just not in a way that’s going to completely shut down all communication. You can’t influence someone who’s not talking/listening to you.

Same old story being dredged up again. And it’s not even true – social security is not going broke.

Limping out the story about the wife again – guess what? Not released back to work means *nothing*. It certainly doesn’t mean disabled. And she DID go back to work, so the SSA was correct.

SSDI is not for temporary illness or disease. If you are going to get better you are not entitled. End of story.

Most people know about Arizona but not the Secure Communities Program. The Secure Communities Program works in tandem with several other ICE programs to deport criminal aliens. Some of these are: the Criminal Alien Program (CAP) designed to prevent the release of foreign criminals, and also Section 287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which allows local police to receive federal training in immigration issues.
